The European Business Organization Network is hosting a regional webinar on May 31, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (UCT+7), with a focus on the upcoming European Union (EU) elections and their implications for EU-ASEAN relations.

This webinar will offer a comprehensive understanding of the evolving geopolitical landscape and its impact on transcontinental dynamics. We will feature two speakers in this discussion:

Mr. Sujiro Seam, Ambassador of the EU to ASEAN, will kick off the event with a discussion on the current state of EU-ASEAN relations, and, drawing upon his extensive diplomatic experience, will provide an overview of existing dynamics, highlight key achievements, and offer his insights into the future trajectory of the EU – ASEAN partnership.

Following Mr. Seam's presentation, Mr. James Maher, Senior Policy Advisor at the European Parliament specialising in ASEAN relations, will delve into the intricacies of the upcoming EU elections. With a focus on the European Parliament and its engagement in Southeast Asia as well as a focus on the election process, Mr. Maher will explore potential outcomes, assess their impact on regional dynamics, and provide attendees with invaluable foresight into the future direction of EU policies.
