EuroCham is proud to introduce Kampot and Kep: Growing Opportunities in Cambodia's Coastal Towns as the first excursion in a new EuroCham event series: Exploring Business in Cambodia.

"Exploring Business in Cambodia" is a new initiative by EuroCham Cambodia that aims to offer the ability to discover new opportunities all-over Cambodia for collaboration and engagement between EuroCham members, private businesses, and local government.

In this first edition, we are inviting real estate and construction, tourism and hospitality, and agribusiness stakeholders to join us for an all-inclusive two-day and one-night business trip to the beautiful seaside provinces of Kampot and Kep. Whilst there, attendees will meet with the governors of each respective province and hear about the history and prospects of this developing coastline and visit some of the ongoing development projects that are set to alter the possibilities offered by these two coastal towns.

Kampot and Kep provinces are costal towns located at the South of Cambodia and sit near the base of the abundant green Elephant Mountains and the famous Bokor Hill Station. They are abundant with French colonial architecture and pre-Angkorian ruins and caves and is home to the famous Kampot pepper.

In recent history Kampot and Kep were sleepy towns but following the development of Sihanoukville both provinces are experiencing an uptick in multi-dimensional development, including the $1.3bn multipurpose port in Kampot and the Kep Coastal Road project that stretches 12km between Kampot and Kep.

In this transition period towards greater connectivity, increased tourism, and improved transport and environmental services, the governors and existing businesses in these areas are well positioned to discuss and share insights regarding the changing landscape of these two coastal towns, as well as the opportunities that may present themselves in the coming years.
