Dear Members, Partners and Friends of EuroCham Cambodia,
After long months of Covid-19 related delays, September was of significant importance for EuroCham. We resumed our public events, starting with the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which resulted in the election of our new Board of Directors and new Chairman, Mr. Tassilo Brinzer.
Members of the Executive Committee were also confirmed at our AGM. The Vice-Chairmen of EuroCham are: Mr. Thomas Hundt, CEO of Smart Axiata; Mr. Guillaume Massin, Partner at DFDL and the group’s Managing Director for Cambodia; and Mr. Martin McCarthy, who represents our founding chamber, Britcham.
Our previous Secretary General, Mr. Youdy Bun, from Bun & Associates, has been re-affirmed; Ms. Nary Ung has taken on the responsibility of treasurer.

Mr. Brinzer is a co-founder of EuroCham and has been on the board and Excom for many years. His extensive experience at the chamber ensures our future work will be consistent with the way it was conducted in the past .
I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I took on my new position on September 1st, and have spent the last weeks familiarizing myself with the work and responsibilities of an Executive Director at EuroCham - of which, as I have learned, there are many.
In my previous career, I spent almost 25 years working in international cooperation and development, across Southeast Asia (including long stints in Cambodia), North Africa and Central Asia. I specialized in promoting institutional dialogues, capacity building, and formulating/implementing development projects.
These meetings are a great occasion to receive updates on initiatives taken by Cambodian authorities to mitigate the effects of the economic and health impact of the Covid-19 crisis, and the measures taken to support the private sector in the coming months and years. They are also a great opportunity to reaffirm the strong partnership between EuroCham and the Royal Government of Cambodia and our working partners from relevant Ministries and Departments.
The very warm welcome given to our delegations on these occasions are testimony to the high quality of mutual relations, trust and partnership achieved during the past years by the EuroCham team under its former leadership. We are now working to further strengthen the strong foundation of our chamber and look forward to upcoming challenges and opportunities.
We are currently also pursuing intensive dialogue with local and international business associations and chambers, as well as government authorities, to identify paths towards a faster post Covid-19 economic recovery, and for closer cooperation on the issues that matter to the international business community.
EuroCham's operational team is fully ready to restart our full range of activities and events. For instance, our sectorial committees have resumed their in-person meetings at EuroCham's office, once again making the venue a beehive of activity. We look forward to welcoming you in the office again soon, although I kindly request you to wear a mask and take all the necessary precautions.
As our members, your voice and participation counts. Please do not hesitate to send us your suggestions and ideas via mail or through our social media channels below, or by contacting our membership team.
I look forward to meeting you during our upcoming and long delayed Networking night on the 14th of October.
Kind regards,
