will make it easier than ever for tourists to spend in the Kingdom.

Credit cards have been the defacto mode of payment for travelers in the past, but there could be fees attached and there's no guarantee establishments will accept them. For example, cards are supported by 52,354 card-processing machines in the country, along with 5,600 ATMS. Compared to the 3.3 million locations that accept QR payment, the advantage is clear.

The new app allows for tourists to deposit funds to their Bakong account at banks or hotels, and luckily, the traditional practice of refusing banknotes with even minor deformities appears to be on the way out to favour streamlining and convenience. Tourists are allowed to spend $1,000 per day using the system, which can be increased to $3,000 per day after confirming their identity.
