Dear members, partners, and friends of EuroCham Cambodia, Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter this week. To start, I'd like to offer my condolences to friends and family of Sandra D'Amico, the former vice-president of CAMFEBA who sadly passed away early this week.
At the chamber, we've had another busy week of meetings and events, highlighted by a visit to the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training for a courtesy call with Minister H.E. HENG Sour and his staff. It's always a pleasure to take part in a dialogue with our government counterparts and it's easy to recognise the mutual motivation to reform and streamline certain processes to help improve Cambodia's business climate.
Have a nice weekend! |

Meeting with Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. HENG Sour |
|
EuroCham’s HR, Garment & Manufacturing, and Agribusiness committees joined EuroCham leadership to meet with Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. HENG Sour and his staff on 16 November to discuss a wide range of topics.
H.E. HENG Sour expressed a strong willingness to work together on these issues, and said the labour law needed to be updated to reflect the growth of freelancers, gig workers, and service providers in the country. H.E. added that apprenticeship programmes needed to be bolstered to build capacity for recent graduates.
Topics brought up by the committees included digitising employment contracts, making progress on sexual harassment and employee transportation in the garment sector, and improving working conditions for workers in the agriculture sector. We’d like to thank for H.E. HENG Sour for his time and look forward to meetings in the near future. |
