Dear Members, Partners and Friends,
Things are moving on at EuroCham!
Just a few days ago, our Board of Directors unanimously agreed that the Annual General Meeting will be organised on 9 September. On this occasion, our Members will vote to elect their new Board of Directors. I count on you to please join and take this opportunity to shape the future of EuroCham!
The AGM will also provide the opportunity to introduce the new Executive Director who will join EuroCham early September. This means that I will finally say goodbye to you and formally handover my responsibilities on that day!
I look forward to seeing you again soon, during our regular online sectoral committee meetings or on the day of the Annual General Meeting! |

| On 16 June 2020, EuroCham had the opportunity to meet with H. E. Mr. CHAN Sopha, Director General of the Institute of Standards of Cambodia (ISC) to better understand the product registration requirements and processes for food products with the ISC under the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation.
As a result, H. E. Chan Sopha and his team provided EuroCham with detailed legal and practical information, which we have communicated to our members to help them ensure compliance with the product registration and quality standards regulations in Cambodia. We would like to thank the Institute of Standards of Cambodia for the warm welcome and in-depth discussion. |

| On 15 June 2020, EuroCham joined a private sector meeting on the COVID-19 related Foreigners Entry Deposit and Fees chaired by the Malaysian Business Council of Cambodia and the International Business Chamber. While understanding the motivation to preserve Cambodia's health situation, the participants discussed their concerns related to the implementation of these new entry barriers, whom it should apply to, and the impact on planned trade missions to the Kingdom. It was agreed to raise these concerns formally at the next session of the Government Private Sector Forum Working Group D meeting. |

| We are pleased to share wth you the World Bank Group's biannual Cambodia Economic Update released on May 28, 2020. Key findings of the report are: - The global epidemiological and economic crisis unleashed by COVID-19 poses the greatest threat to Cambodia’s development in its 30 years of modern history.
- In the current year, Cambodia’s economy is likely to register its slowest growth since 1994, contracting between -1 percent (baseline) and -2.9 percent (downside).
- The fiscal deficit could reach its peak in 22 years, and public debt is expected rise to 35 percent of GDP by 2022.
- To facilitate a robust recovery, the government will need to continue to ensure macroeconomic and financial sector stability and accelerate trade and investment reforms as well as encouraging faster adoption of digital technologies.

| As the number of COVID-19 cases in Cambodia continues to rise, it is essential that people have access to accurate and evidence-based information to understand this crisis and how to appropriately respond.
We have been asked by UNICEF to share a package of communication materials developed in collaboration with the WHO and other development partnersand approved by the Ministry of Health.
Businesses and partner organisations are strongly encouraged to use these materials and share them with their employees, customers and suppliers through social media and by displaying them throughout their places of business. |
