The 247-room Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh debuts as the largest international hotel in the city with its 43 residential-style suites, nine multi-functional meeting spaces, the Regency Club  and FiveFive Rooftop Bar & Restaurant, which has an exquisite view of the Royal Palace and the riverfront. The hotel’s design was created to give a tropical urban retreat feeling to its guests.

In a press conference yesterday, Herman Kemp, general manager of Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh, said he is delighted with the opening of the first Hyatt Regency in Cambodia with Chip Mong group as the sole owner. We’re excited to welcome business and leisure guests to a refreshing space where they can relax, recharge and connect with the things that matter most,” he added.

Kemp said they will implement strict hygiene protocols to ensure the safety of their guests, especially now with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Khun said that it is an auspicious occasion for Chip Mong and their business partner to welcome the New Year with the official opening of the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh. This is the pride of Chip Mong that the construction of this five-star hotel has been successfully completed and ready.

He said their opening will also contribute towards the Kingdom’s revenue, economic development, tourism and business sectors besides creating job opportunities for Cambodians.

Director of Sales and Marketing Alexandra Hepworth said: “We already have few guest rooms as well as a few suites booked for [today] and we have the staycation package available which is quite popular as it includes food and beverage, afternoon tea at market café and also breakfasts included for the one-night package.”

She said that if the guests stay for two nights they also get the dinner included at the FiveFive rooftop restaurant and bar.

“It’s a very nice and attractive offer to start. We also believe that once the doors open and the word starts to spread, more people will come not only for room stays but also for food and beverage as we have a very unique dining experience to give our guests,” she added.

Some of the interesting features of the hotel are the  101 square metres royal suite with two ensuite bedrooms, a walk-in closet, a powder room, separate living and dining areas, a pantry and floor-to-ceiling views to take in the city views.

Guests staying on the 10th floor can access the Regency Club Lounge. Privileges include exclusive check-in and check-out services as well as daily breakfast, evening canapés and complimentary drinks alongside panoramic city views with the choice of indoor or outdoor seating.

Guests will have a choice of five dining venues, including Market Café Restaurant & Lounge, an inviting all-day dining concept inside a light-filled atrium serving buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and à la carte options; Metropole Underground, an early 20th century metro-themed bar offering live music and local beers; and an old-world speakeasy-style bar tucked away in the eaves of the Colonial House called The Attic, specialising in handcrafted cocktails and grand cru wines.
