GDT terminates the E-VAT Refund System

General Department of Taxation (GDT) has announced to the taxpayers that it has terminated the electronic value added tax refund system (E-VAT Refund System), replacing it with the electronic filing system (E-Filing System), according to the GDT’s announcement.

“We [GDT] would like to inform all companies and enterprises that previously the GDT launched the electronic value added tax refund system (E-VAT Refund System) under the letter 001, issued on Jan 09, 2019. Then, another announcement letter number 003, Feb 27, 2020, providing the alternative choice to taxpayers to use the two system [E-VAT Refund System, and E-Filing System] to declare the taxes,” the announcement said.

GDT added that in order to offer a better service to the taxpayers with effective, transparent, convenience and fast on the tax declaration, and paying tax, the GDT has decided to terminate the E-VAT Refund System. Instead, taxpayers have to use E-Filing System, effective from Jan 1, 2021.

“Then the taxpayers are able to use the function of the E-VAT Refund in the E-Filing System,” the announcement read.
